چکیده

The aim of the project we discuss in this paper is to develop a computational model of peer learning. We present an extensive analysis of peer learning dialogues, analysis on which our computational model is based. Our model incorporates shifts of initiative as an identifier of knowledge co-construction. We have embedded this model in a peerlearning agent that collaborates with students to solve problems in the domain of computer science data structures

Modeling Knowledge Co-Construction for Peer Learning Interactions

We are analyzing peer collaborations in order to build a computational model of knowledge co-construction that could be useful in creating an effective artificial peer learning agent. We hypothesize that the start of a co-construction episode can be predicted based on initiative during interactions and that shifts of initiative during interactions indicate that co-construction is taking place. ...

Impact of Initiative on Collaborative Problem Solving

Even though collaboration in peer learning has been shown to have a positive impact for students, there has been little research into collaborative peer learning dialogues. We analyze such dialogues in order to derive a model of knowledge co-construction that incorporates initiative and the balance of initiative. This model will be embedded in an artificial agent that will collaborate with stud...

A COLLABORATIVE TRAINING PLATFORM FOR PEER-BASED CO-CONSTRUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND CO-TUTORING A Collaborative Training Platform for Peer-Based Co-Construction of Knowledge and Co-Tutoring

We propose a collaborative training platform where students collectively contribute to the co-construction of the required knowledge to produce their individual semester project. Peers feedback is implemented in order to complete trainers’ supervision with peer-training. This collaborative platform is implemented as a social network, where collaborative interactions are organized 1) to engage a...

The effect of language complexity and group size on knowledge construction: Implications for online learning

This  study  investigated  the  effect  of  language  complexity  and  group  size  on  knowledge construction in two online debates. Knowledge construction was assessed using Gunawardena et al.’s Interaction Analysis Model (1997). Language complexity was determined by dividing the  number  of  unique  words  by  total  words.  It  refers  to  the  lexical  variation.  The  results showed  that...

Interfirm Alliance Interactions and knowledge Learning: A Conceptual Research Model

Alliance raises many knowledge transfer and interfirm learning issues that have implications for how the alliance partners manage their cooperative learning activities in the alliance system. Many of these implications are grounded in the assumption that partners in the alliances have routines for transferring knowledge, learning, gaining management efficiencies. Thus organisations can support ...
